Johan de Velde. Johan is an extremely talented European Grand-Pianist living in Holland, who has interest in performing in the Arab countries. Johan’s specialty is playing for groups of varying sizes, where he has an opportunity for personal contact, both by playing the Grand Piano and by speaking directly with people in smaller, more intimate groups. Johan is a gifted performer of improvisation, the art of playing from the heart, based upon viewing scenes, meeting new friends, and sharing experiences. Johan will often speak warmly to a new friend in the concert audience and develop a feeling about interesting and fitting music for this person. Then, he will sit down at the Grand Piano and produce a unique, “one-of-a-kind " piano presentation. No Sheets, No Paper! Every presentation, every piece he plays is like an artist painting ... never before and never again will that exact piece of music be played! This is Johan de Velde's gift ... to produce special and unique music, as you watch and listen, to fit the person, the event, the place and the time… it is a gift from God!

 

A little view on Johan de Velde’s life as musician: Johan has been playing the piano since he was a little boy. His neighbors put an old black piano in the garbage and Johan asked his parents: “Please, can I have it in the house!” And that was the very start of Johan playing the piano. Since then he played a lot, always without music sheets, always listening to the radio and playing what he heard. Soon he was playing his own music, the beginning of composing music and improvisations. At the age of 20 years, Johan went off to the conservatory, where he was forced to play from music sheets, from paper! He studied 9 years, first the master piano study and after that the study “Theory of Music”.

 

Johan as a professional musician has given many recitals and concerts. He has developed his very own, very warm and personal style: always develop a mind and heart impression from the actual person and situation. Then, immediately produce a piano presentation that is certainly “made for” the new friend.

 

Now he is in contact with many Arabic people; we would be very honored and happy to be invited for a few days or weeks to come to the Middle East and play for Guests of the Major Hotels, or Guests of Major Business people. How may I make Johan's talent and interest visible in your country?  This is not a standard situation, where a person looks for occasional performing opportunities in UAE, but this highly-skilled performer desires to serve in a variety of capacities including “Musician-In-Residence”, likely in the short-term employ of a very high-level Business or Political person in UAE for entertainment of Business Associates, or, under the Patronage of such a person, to serve at an educational or cultural institution.
